SWAMI SAMARTHA AND THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND
‘Swami Samartha creates coherence between our conscious and subconscious mind.’
Each one of us have heard of conscious and subconscious mind, right? We use the terms so frequently. And do we ever link spirituality to science? We hardly ever. Let us discuss this then and let me explain the sentence above.
Whatever our subconscious believes, becomes our reality in the outside conscious world. And now than ever before, the need to work on the subconscious, has become apparent in these difficult circumstances of the pandemic, when every class and community of the world has been affected adversely, much due to the lifestyles we have adopted in order to safeguard our lives. Lesser contact with other human beings, increased indoor living-online classes, work from home, fewer celebrations and holidaying; each and every one is facing some sort of mental and emotional issues. Whatever we see in our mental health clinics or read and hear in news, is just the tip of the iceberg. The reality is unimaginable. Hence, the need for deeper corrections and healing has resurfaced. Rectification of thoughts, amendment of emotions, reforming of right attitudes and habits at subconscious level – what is also known as belief system or inner work in spirituality, are required to change the reality in the outside world. Keep aside pandemic, we often review our lives and suddenly if a problem arises in our life we lament ‘why this happen to me always?’ Or ‘What have I done that such unpleasant/unfortunate things keep happening in my life?’ Yes. Hence, the inner work and change of belief system is essential.
Now, how to make changes at the sub-conscious level? There are two ways to do it. One way is- to do a lot of things consciously. For that we need to review our life to see where we currently are? what has worked for us? what has not worked for us? What mistakes we have committed? Which habits we need to change? What are the beliefs that hold us back? After this review and contemplation, we need to change our thoughts, actions and behaviours accordingly. This inner work is very essential to move ahead in life. But, even after this exercise of reviewing of life, changing our habits, behaviour and thoughts consciously, it takes a lot of time to manifest desires and get rid of fears or problems. Many a times, problems hit us at such crucial times that, we don’t even have the energy or time to undergo this inner work consciously. Or even if we start this inner work, we fail to do it consistently to bring about the desired results. It’s a long route anyways if dogmatised with self-doubt and weak decision making. The other way is to take help of spirituality. Spirituality gives us hope in difficulties, and this hope is power. Power to transform and strength to endure. Inner work is essential, and spirituality provides us with guidance, hope and strength and makes the difficult task an easy one.
Now, for me spirituality begins and ends at Swami Samartha. After so many years of experience of working in alliance with this divine power, I now know how wonderfully this power works on our subconscious mind. When we pray to him, our inner world, our subconscious aligns with the Universal forces. That too, so effortlessly, with ease and without us being even aware of the inner work being done. He changes our belief system with this one popular tag line- nothing is impossible with Swami. He can turn the impossible to possible. This changed belief is hope and this is the real power. We just need to call upon him. How? Two easy ways. Chant ‘Shree Swami Samartha’ and talk to him or recite the ‘Tarak Mantra’. I will be taking this Mantra discussion in detail, later in this article. First, I want readers to understand a few concepts.
Dr. Joseph Murphy mentions fear, hatred, self -pity, resentment, envy, vengeance, loneliness and melancholy as mental poisons in his literature. This is so true. These feelings are like the darkness, the Evil. And absence of these, is The Light or The God. So, where there is God there is no evil, no darkness, which means absence of these negative emotions is Godliness. These emotions might not always be apparent in one’s behaviour. They are deep seated in subconscious but manifest as negative experiences in the form of illness, loss, failure, unhappiness, etc in life, because as I mentioned earlier, whatever our subconscious believes, becomes our reality in the outside conscious world. If we want to get rid of our problems, we need to work on these evil emotions in the subconscious first, do the inner work first. Then only our experiences in the outer world will change and will be pleasant. We need to discover what mental poison we are dealing with inside, in order to release it forever. But challenge arises when we ourselves are not aware of the evil we have to deal with. This requires more awareness and clarity. Here, comes the role of Swami Samartha. He brings in the clarity and increases the awareness. All of this is very well explained in his most commonly recited prayer known as ‘Tarak mantra’ which literally means, a mental instrument (mantra) which saves you or solves your problem(tarak).
Here it goes- the original verses and my interpretations.
This prayer instructs our mind, our subconscious to remove all fears (negative self-talk, old beliefs) and doubts as the divine is with us who is capable of turning impossible into possible. No negativity or lower forms of energies or emotions can dwell, where the divine power exists (where there’s light, there cannot be darkness). There is a always a hope when Swami is with us, guiding us.
Surrender your worries to the divine who decides your fate and writes your destiny. If you place the divine (faith) in your subconscious, you will be capable of writing your own destiny (coherence of conscious and subconscious which leads to manifestation of desires).
Do not operate from the fear perspective. Trust that, the Divine (faith) is in your subconscious now. Release the fear as you are the child of the Creator. Will a father/mother harm his/her child?
Become aware of Swami’s presence inside you and replace fear with faith. Become aware of the supreme power of the divine (powers of Swami- to do miracles and manifest desires) and activate those powers within your subconscious mind. In short have a miracle mind-set and belief system. Whenever time tests you, just remember how the divine has helped you before. Won’t he provide for you now? Trust him, no matter what the situation is. First line says faith is awareness and unless you become aware (of his powers and ultimately your own powers) and have unshakable faith in him, you won’t feel guided. All swami devotees are guided by him.
Literally, this means that chant his name daily, meditate, consume vibhuti, and teerth (holy water) as you can feel his presence in these five things. You can take it this way or if given a deeper thought, this verse also means that there is no need to chant his name, meditate, consume vibhuti, or any teerth (holy water) for purification of your mind, body and soul because he resides in our panchpraan These are 5 compartments of our body where only air is present. This space is filled up by the divine. In fact, the divine is omnipresent- even if we keep this in mind forever, this belief itself works like the real holy waters (teerth) that purifies our mind and soul and helps get rid of all mental poisons. Just become aware of his presence and release all fear.
By reciting this Tarak Mantra, Swami samrtha makes us aware of the powers of our subconscious mind (manifesting desires and creating our own reality) and makes us fearless. Once the fear, the Big brother leaves, other evils and poisons like hatred, self -pity, resentment, envy, vengeance, loneliness and melancholy leave as well. All the inner work is done just by consciously reciting this prayer and we don’t even realize that the work is being done. What we experience in the world around us is that suddenly things start falling in place, conflicts are resolved and problems are solved. We feel like miracles are happening all around us. In reality, Swami has taken over the charge of our inner world and changed the reality of our outer world, without we being even aware of it. We are clueless of the minute changes occurring in our mind-set, thoughts, behaviour, habits and attitude, when we chant his name or recite tarak mantra. But changes do happen- it is just that the change is effortless and permanent. Such is the power of this Tarak Mantra and Swami Samartha. We then call it a miracle because we know that it would have been impossible otherwise. But Swami turns this impossible to possible by changing our subconscious.
So, if you feel you are dealing a lot in life and fear grapples your existence, seeking guidance from Swami samrtha and reciting this prayer can be very beneficial. If you wish to tame your subconscious and manifest love, kindness, prosperity, abundance and happiness in your life, surrendering to the Divine- Swami Samartha, will align you to the Universal forces and you will experience the real bliss. You will be fearless forever. Love, kindness and abundance in the conscious outer world is a reflection of love, kindness and abundance in the subconscious. This is coherence and real aligned life which is fostered by Swami.
After all life is about rising above the storm and finding the sunshine.
